The Majesty is a handsome fixed blade hunting knife/gut hook designed exclusively for Kershaw by custom knife maker Tom Veff. Veff is particularly known for his ability to combine comfortable use, extreme efficiency, and task-specific performance in his knives. In this case, the tasks are outdoor and hunting tasks. The Majesty (Model 2314) skinning blade with gut hook fits neatly in the harness-leather sheath that is included. One of the unique features of the Majesty is its Cocobolo wood handle. Cocobolo is the heaviest and darkest member of the tropical rosewood family. It is acclaimed for its richness of color as well as its durability. The rose-brown colored wood characteristically features beautiful banding in colors from purple and black to orange and gold.

 The wood is extremely dense (so dense, it won't float!) and contains a large amount of natural oil. The oil waterproofs the wood, even when left in contact with water for an extended period of time. It also provides a rich satin luster for the Majesty's handle-without the use of stains or additional oil.

Out of respect for our environment, the Cocobolo wood Kershaw uses for these knives is farm-grown, not from wild trees in the world's rainforests.
