Spyderco Bill Moran Featherweight FB01
Bill Moran is the grandfather of custom knifemaker. Although knife enthusiasts consider Spyderco an authority in folders, this fixed-blade design by Bill Moran demonstrates Spyderco's flexibility as a knife company. Bill Moran is the most "in demand" cutlery smith in America. His waiting list for a custom made piece exceeds 20 years. He is the father of modern Damascus steel and founder of the American Bladesmith's Society. The FB01 Bill Moran Featherweight Fixed Blade model is modest and unpretentious in its ability and aptitude. Rather like Bill himself. The FB01 has an upswept trailing point blade shape. This model is made out of VG-10 stainless steel done in a scapel-like flat grind. Featherweights make a phenomenal camp utility knife and/or hunting companion. The handle is FRN with rubbery Krayton insets. This is a decided bonus in the field when hands are frequently soaked, numb or gloved. They are snuggly encased in a Concealex sheath equipped with a 6 position TekLock fastening system. Riding comfortably on clothing, a belt or pack the TekLock positions the knife in six separate carry positions: Vertically, horizontally, inverted, cross-draw, open, or in the small of your back.Specs: Blade Steel VG-10 Blade Thickness 1/8" 3mm Case/Sheath Concealex Sheath Diam.
